Job Summary/Basic Function

The primary responsibility of the Graduate Assistant for the Maryville University Speech-Language Pathology Program is to provide support of the mission and vision of the program by assisting the operations of the University Speech and Hearing Clinic. This position reports to the Clinical Coordinator and the Director of the Speech-Language Pathology Program.

Position Requirements:
Maryville University Speech & Hearing Clinic
 Coordination of scheduling both clients and students for observation, assisting, and provision of services
 Maintain and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Maryville University Speech & Hearing Clinic
 Work in conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator to create and implement the mission of the Speech-Language Pathology Program
 Assist in the University Clinic with the selection, procurement, of evaluation and treatment materials
 Manage, create, update and assist with electronic medical record systems information and training
 Ability to maintain confidential record-keeping for both clients and students will be a vital component of this position.
 Assist with training and supervision of student employees in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program.
 Complete special projects essential to the accomplishments of the Speech-Language Pathology Program.

Minimum Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree required
 Must be accepted and enrolled in the master’s program at Maryville University
 Clinical experience is preferred
 Strong commitment to ethnic and cultural diversity
 Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
 Demonstrate reflection as a practitioner
 Application of ethical conduct in academic, research, and clinical endeavors
 High level of competency in the use of technology to accomplish the above goals
 Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
