Job Summary/Basic Function

Position Summary: The Experiential Learning Coordinator and Instructor will play a key role in enhancing the experiential learning opportunities available to business school students while also teaching courses within the Simon School of Business. This position will focus on identifying, developing, and maintaining outreach opportunities with external partners, acting as Internship Coordinator who oversees the academic courses related to internships. The successful candidate will be a proactive and innovative professional dedicated to expanding practical learning experiences and teaching high-quality courses.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Outreach and Partnership Development:
o Identify and develop relationships with local, national, and international organizations to create new experiential learning opportunities, including but not limited to internships.
o Maintain and strengthen existing partnerships to ensure a wide range of opportunities for students.
o Facilitate partnership feedback from partners to inform curriculum development.
o Represent the business school at industry events, career fairs, and networking functions to promote experiential learning programs.

2. Program Development and Management:
o Collaborate with faculty to align experiential learning opportunities with academic programs.
o Oversee the RBC mentor program relationship and selection process.
o Design and implement new experiential learning initiatives, including workshops, seminars, and short-term projects.
o Ensure that all experiential learning activities meet the educational goals and standards of the business school.

3. Integration of Experiential Learning into Courses:
o Develop and provide guidelines and instructions for integrating experiential projects into business courses.
o Work closely with full-time and adjunct faculty to support the implementation of these projects.
o Offer training and resources to faculty to facilitate effective experiential learning experiences.

3. Student Engagement and Support:
o Promote experiential learning opportunities to students through various channels, including presentations, social media, and newsletters.
o Provide guidance and support to students in identifying and applying for experiential learning opportunities.
o Organize and conduct preparatory sessions for students to maximize their learning experiences.
o Evaluate and assess internships for academic credit.
o Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the quality and impact of these programs.

4. Data Collection and Reporting:
o Collect and analyze data on student participation and outcomes in experiential learning programs.
o Prepare regular reports on the effectiveness and impact of experiential learning initiatives.
o Use data to identify areas for improvement and to support strategic planning.

5. Teaching Responsibilities:
o Teach three courses within the Simon School of Business each in the fall and spring semesters, with at least 1 at the graduate level each semester.
o Deliver course content that meets the curriculum standards of the business school.
o Provide students with a high-quality learning experience through effective teaching methods and materials.
o Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.

6. Continuous Improvement:
o Stay current with trends and best practices in experiential learning and related fields.
o Attend professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
o Implement innovative strategies to improve and expand experiential learning opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications


• Master's degree in Business, Economics, Education, or a related field; Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in experiential learning, career services, or a related area.
• Proven experience in teaching business courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Knowledge of experiential learning theory and practice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a higher education setting.
• Familiarity with internship programs and academic course integration.
• Ability to use social media and other digital tools for outreach and promotion.
