Job Summary/Basic Function

This position is responsible for the maintenance of all campus buildings, building systems, HVAC operations, plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, work order system, furniture moving, fleet vehicle maintenance, and large event support.
MAINTENANCE – Respond to work requests from a variety of sources and perform requested maintenance tasks related to light electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, door systems, painting, and ceiling tiles. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and tasks such as lubricating fittings, filter changes, belt changes to ensure reliability of HVAC equipment. Perform routine inspections of mechanical rooms and equipment. Assist third-party contractors for access and monitor their work for completeness of repairs or annual inspections/testing when requested.
FURNITURE MOVING – Move furniture as required for office moves, large events, and cleaning projects. Move large items from Central Receiving and deliver on campus to intended recipient department.
SEASONAL – Winter seasonal duties such as shoveling snow, spreading ice-melt products, and maintain building entrances during winter. Holiday decoration set-up and removal. Spring seasonal duties including working with team to set up/break down large tents. Summer seasonal duties such as: summer maintenance repairs in student housing areas, working with team to prepare campus for fall semester. Summer/Winter seasonal switch from campus cooling to campus heating.
ON-CALL – Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent maintenance issues on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
FLEET VEHICLES – Perform maintenance checks on fleet vehicles, and take vehicles for service as required, fuel vehicles, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.

Minimum Qualifications
|
Knowledge of building automation systems and controls Knowledge of electricity, especially multi-voltages and hazards Knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading Basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry skills Basic diagnostic skills (electrical, mechanical and HVAC)
Required Formal Education High School or GED, Technical or Vocational education preferred
