POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant in the Division of Operational Excellence include the support of the mission of the division by ensuring effective operations, which directly support students at Maryville University. The Sponsorship Operations GA will assist with the University’s strategic partnerships with area Employers, Sponsors, Veterans Affairs, and Vocational Rehabilitation providers. They will process documentation to support these efforts, providing support to students and partners, and will support the university in ensuring processes are in line with appropriate standards and best practices.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct regular reviews of Sponsored Accounts to ensure timely and accurate processing of all
- Sponsored Funding Analyze accounts, providing adjustments for unpaid or overpaid sponsorships.
- Create standard communication tracks for students with partnerships to provide process updates
- Performing data audits ensuring data entry alignment with established best practices and identifying gaps in processes
- Support students by resolving inquiries submitted in case, through phone, email or in-person.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Through this experience, the Graduate Assistant in the Division of Operational Excellence will:
- Gain relevant experience with Sponsored Billing, Student Receivables, and Partnership Agreements.
- Obtain transferrable skills for database/CRM management and the management of a Sponsored Billing
- Demonstrate the ability to create accurate process documentation and/or training manuals
- Cultivate the ability to collaborate within a team across various departments on campus and the Maryville community
- Enhance leadership and interpersonal skills by leading direct student outreach related to Sponsored payments, limits, and financial impact of student planning.
COMPENSATION:
- Stipend for the academic year: $3000
- Tuition award for the academic year: 12 credits
The award is based on 20 hours per week for 15 weeks each semester. It is expected that students earn their credit hours in the fall and spring semesters by being enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours each semester. Credits must be earned by May 31 each year. Tuition waiver does not cover fees, private music lessons, books, or OneCard charges. Students will receive ½ of their annual stipend during the Fall semester and ½ of their annual stipend during the Spring semester. Each semester, the stipend will be divided into 8 payments. Fall stipends are paid on or about September 15-December 31. Spring stipends are paid on or about January 31-May 15

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must be accepted and enrolled in the MBA ACSCI or DSCI master’s degree program at Maryville University
- Creative, innovative, detail-oriented self-starter
- Strong technology skills
- Excellent writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
