Maryville University seeks an innovative and strategic Strategic Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our comprehensive technology and product initiatives.
The Strategic Product Manager will play a pivotal role in Maryville's ambitious $21 million investment in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and advanced technologies, driving our mission to become a leading AI-forward university. This role will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to implementation and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with Maryville’s strategic plan and commitment to personalized, student-centric education.
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute a clear, compelling product vision aligned with Maryville’s strategic priorities, including the modernization of our technology stack, AI integration, and data-driven personalized learning experiences.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, academic stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure product strategies support Maryville’s goal of reaching 100,000 students by 2030.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of courageous experimentation and agile adaptation to emerging technologies and market trends.
Product Development and Management:
- Oversee the implementation and integration of Salesforce Education Cloud, Marketing Cloud, LifeGraph (Master Data Management), and other key technology platforms.
- Lead the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions, including predictive analytics, chatbots, virtual assistants, and immersive learning experiences, to enhance student recruitment, admissions, retention, and success.
- Ensure seamless integration and interoperability across Maryville’s technology ecosystem, creating a unified, intuitive, and frictionless user experience for students, faculty, and staff.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Leverage advanced analytics and AI to gain deep insights into student behaviors, preferences, and outcomes, enabling proactive, personalized interventions and strategic resource allocation.
- Establish robust metrics and KPIs to measure product effectiveness, student engagement, satisfaction, and overall impact on enrollment growth and retention.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing product management, technology, and analytics teams, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative work environment.
- Partner closely with IT, Marketing, Admissions, Student Success, and Academic Affairs to ensure alignment, effective communication, and successful execution of product initiatives.
Change Management and Communication:
- Serve as a key advocate and spokesperson for Maryville’s technology and product vision, clearly communicating strategic objectives, progress, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead effective change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption and integration of new technologies and processes across the university community.

Minimum Qualifications
|
● 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in product management, technology strategy, or related roles, ideally within higher education or technology-driven organizations. ● Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale technology implementations, digital transformations, and AI-driven initiatives. ● Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce Education Cloud, Marketing Cloud, data analytics platforms, and AI technologies. ● Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies. ● Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire teams, build consensus, and effectively manage change. ● Experience in higher education technology, student lifecycle management, and personalized learning solutions. ● Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate organizational dynamics effectively.
Preferred: ● Familiarity with master data management systems, predictive analytics, and immersive learning technologies. ● Familiarity with online higher ed and working with Online Program Managers (OPMs). • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Education, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
