Job Summary/Basic Function
|
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Wrestling Coach to join our athletic department. As an Assistant Wrestling Coach, you will work closely with the head coach to develop and implement training programs, provide technical guidance, and support the overall development of student-athletes. Your primary role will be to assist in creating a positive and competitive environment that fosters skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist with the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and be among the top programs within the conference.
• Assist head coach with scheduling, practice planning, game day operations, travel, and monitoring student-athlete academic success
• Assist with adherence to the program’s operational and recruitment budget.
• Understand and drive compliance with the rules, regulations and protocols of the University, GLVC and the NCAA.

Minimum Qualifications
|
• In-depth knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
• The ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with team and player development.
• Previous coaching experience or team leadership role as an athlete.
• Demonstrated commitment to sportsmanship, integrity, and ethical coaching practices.
• High ethical standards and a commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Bachelor's degree required
• Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends
