Maryville University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor to teach, supervise, and advise students in Doctoral and Master’s Programs in educational administrative leadership and teacher leadership. The candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff, to leading active learning in all courses, to supporting students in the completion of their dissertations, and to providing support and guidance as an advisor through regular meetings with assigned advisees.

Master’s and Doctoral Programs at Maryville University use a practitioner-focused cohort model to develop the relationships between students and faculty to ensure active engagement in the deep learning necessary to build and sustain a strong and vital system of public education.

This is a 9.5-month, tenure-track position. The successful candidate must be able to teach on-ground.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Teach assigned courses as specified in the schedule and course contract, employing a variety of pedagogical styles to effectively deliver course content demonstrating both academic and real-world applications of concepts covered.
• Develop innovative pedagogical strategies, including the use of technology, to deliver in-person or virtual course content in a meaningful and engaging manner.
• Foster a teaching-learning environment that values and supports the diversity of students’ ideas, opinions, and backgrounds and prepares them for success in a culturally diverse workforce.
• work collaboratively with appropriate faculty to review, evaluate, and develop course materials, teaching and learning experiences, and assessments to ensure a five-star experience for all students.
• Ensure that program learning outcomes and course outcomes are assessed for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with advisees regularly to facilitate academic, professional, and personal success.
• Support students in conducting and completing their research dissertations.
• Provide guidance for and grading of professional assessments required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience as Head Principal in a PK-12 public education system
• Experience working with culturally diverse student populations and a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and leadership.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
• A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership (ABD and Dissertation near completion may be considered)
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to student-centered learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in research methodology, data-driven decision making, adult learning, coaching, and mentoring
• Experience as a school district administrator
