Maryville University is seeking a dynamic new faculty member who demonstrates a commitment to teaching excellence, teamwork, and exceptional service to students and the University. This full-time position within the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing will be responsible for teaching in the undergraduate nursing programs. This is a 9.5-month contract position, and the successful candidate could be tenure-eligible depending on their credentials.


The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students. The chosen candidate must also have the ability to teach courses related to pediatric care as well as various other courses within the undergraduate curriculum. Assignments may include classroom/didactic courses and/or clinical/lab/simulation.


Candidates should be aware that this is an on-ground teaching position.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver engaging and evidence-based curriculum in nursing education, particularly in the area of pediatric care. This includes didactic, clinical, and laboratory simulation instruction.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, professional growth, and ethical practice.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to students in both academic and clinical settings.
• Collaborate with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and community partners to enhance the quality of nursing education and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Contribute to program development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Possession of an unencumbered, undisciplined, & unrestricted nursing license in the state of Missouri. If the candidate does not currently possess these credentials, they must have the ability to become credentialed by the Missouri Board of Nursing.
• Previous teaching experience in an academic setting, preferably in nursing education.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Dedication to promoting the values of professionalism, integrity, and lifelong learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of recent RN experience
• DNP or Doctorate in a related field
• Previous experience with Canvas LMS and Microsoft Office products
