The Graduate Assistant position will assist in the daily operations of the Athletics Communications office and support to the entire department of athletics. 

 Essential Duties:

The GA is given many responsibilities with game day management and set up, writing and graphic design opportunities and the duties of assisting with social media operations. Position will require knowledge of software programs such as Adobe Creative suite especially PhotoShop and LightRoom.  The position provides the ability to network with other people at other universities and related schools is invaluable.  

• Provide sports information support to designated teams.
• Assist in multimedia tool development for website.
• Supervise undergraduate student staff.
• Provide assistance for media relations, website maintenance, internal communications, public information, publicity and promotions.

 Learning Outcomes:

1. Enhance supervisory skills in working with and directing other student workers.
2. Experience in working with coaches, staff members and the general public.
3. Develop writing skills through updates with the Athletics Website.
4. Real-world experience in the creation of social media posts, especially with SnapChat.
5. Knowledge of different computer software programs in constantly changing technology world.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Admission to the MBA Maryville University Graduate School program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Ability to work well with various constituents 
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite 
• Ability to update and maintain statistics for various sports 

• Photography and videography skills.

• Must own a digital camera with capability of shooting videos.
