Maryville University is seeking a dynamic new faculty member who demonstrates a dedication to excellence in teaching, scholarship, teamwork, and service to the University. This full-time position within the Physical Therapy Program will be responsible for teaching primarily in the graduate physical therapy program. This is a 9.5-month tenure-track position.
The Physical Therapy Program is a six-and-one-half-year direct Freshman entry Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. We seek educators for this role who think innovatively and use engaging pedagogy, particularly problem-based learning, to help our students deepen their learning and broaden their perspectives.
- Develop and deliver engaging and evidence-based curriculum in physical therapy education employing a variety of active teaching strategies. This includes didactic and laboratory instruction,
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, professional growth, and ethical practice.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to students in both academic setting and in clinical research.
- Collaborate with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and community partners to enhance the quality of physical therapy education and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Contribute to program development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Engagement in independent scholarly activity.

Minimum Qualifications

Required knowledge, skills, or abilities • The candidate must be a licensed Physical Therapist in Missouri (or be eligible for licensure)
Required Formal Education • A Masters or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy • A terminal academic doctorate is required (PhD, DSc, EdD, DHS, DBA) An applicant with ABD status may be considered
