Job Summary/Basic Function
Maryville University seeks an experienced and innovative MuleSoft Developer to join our development team. As a MuleSoft Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and customizing integration solutions within the MuleSoft platform to support the University's data operations and enhance the user experience. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions that align with the University's strategic goals.To be successful, the candidate must have a service-oriented mindset, a passion for technology and innovation, and be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students. Qualified candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate technical details to non-technical staff in an understandable way.Essential Responsibilities• System Integration Development: Design, develop, and implement robust integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.• API Design and Development: Architect and build APIs, connectors, and interfaces using MuleSoft to facilitate data exchange and connectivity between applications.• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver scalable integration solutions.• Configuration and Optimization: Configure, optimize, and maintain MuleSoft workflows, transformations, and error handling for efficient system performance.• Training: Train business users on MuleSoft automation tools (RPA and Composer).• Troubleshooting and Support: Identify and resolve integration issues, conduct debugging, and provide technical support to ensure the stability and reliability of integrations.• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment procedures, and best practices.
• Associate degree or 3 years of equivalent professional/technical experience.• 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform in integration development and implementation.• Deep understanding of the MuleSoft Platform. This includes Anypoint Platform, Anypoint Studio, CloudHub 2.0, Runtime Manager, and Anypoint Monitoring. Familiarity with Mule 4 and DataWeave is crucial.• Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful and SOAP services, and other integration patterns.• A strong foundation in Java is essential for scripting and extending Mule applications. Understanding of Spring, Hibernate, and other Java frameworks is beneficial.• Expertise in designing, building, and consuming APIs, especially RESTful ones, is crucial for integration tasks. Understanding microservices architecture is beneficial.• Proficiency in working with data formats like XML, JSON, and CSV is essential for data manipulation and transformation.• Understanding of ESB principles and how MuleSoft implements them is key for integration architecture design.• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems is essential for collaboration and code management.• Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues and perform debugging and performance tuning.• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.• MuleSoft certifications such as MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1. Levels 2 and/or Architect Level 1 are highly desirable.
