Job Summary/Basic Function

 

The Head Men’s Wrestling Coach will lead all aspects of a highly competitive program.

• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and be among the top programs within the conference
• Oversee scheduling, practice planning, game day operations and travel
• Oversee the overall administration of the men’s wrestling program including the recommendation for hire and supervision of coaching staff
• Oversee the program’s operational and recruitment budget
• Understand and follow the rules, regulations and protocol of the University, GLVC and the NCAA
• Connect with the alumni of the program including but not limited to opportunities to meet, invitations to appropriate team activity and other stewardship activity

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree
• Five or more years as a successful coach
• Thorough understanding of the sport including all technical aspects
• The ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with team and student-athlete development

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years as a successful head coach at the high school or college level
