Maryville University is seeking an occupational therapy academic fieldwork coordinator to join the Walker College of Health Professions. The candidate will demonstrate significant organization and management abilities and must be committed to fostering a positive, culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students. This 11-month position has responsibilities that include teaching, year-round administrative monitoring of the fieldwork program, initiating and maintaining written and verbal communication between academic and fieldwork sites, routinely evaluating quality and appropriateness of fieldwork sites, coordinating the assignment of students to fieldwork sites, and coordinating ongoing educational opportunities to improve clinical educators’ abilities to support student education in field sites.
Responsibilities for all faculty members: • Teach assigned courses as specified, employing a variety of pedagogical styles to effectively deliver course content. • Create a learning environment that is conducive to student learning by developing creative, challenging, and evidence-based learning opportunities. • Use learning assessment information to improve teaching and curriculum; participate in quality improvement initiatives to meet program and institutional goals. • Foster a teaching-learning environment that values and supports the diversity of students’ ideas, opinions, and backgrounds and prepares them for success in a culturally diverse workforce. • Ensure that program and course outcomes are assessed for continuous improvement. • Serve on School and University committees as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
|
• Two years of professional experience. • Master’s degree in occupational therapy from a regionally accredited institution. • Student-centered approach and passion for teaching and mentoring a diverse student population. • Strong commitment to serving students, department, university and profession.
