Job Summary/Basic Function

The Director for BSN Programs in the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing will manage and direct the BSN programs to attain the educational objectives of the program, including the promotion and maintenance of high academic standards within the program. This position will also be responsible for supervising the Coordinators in the BSN program and Nursing Faculty assigned to the program in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Nursing in the Walker College of Health Professions (WCHP). The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a welcoming environment for a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
Role Responsibilities: • Guide all program planning, coordination, and evaluation. • Serve as a member of the College of Health Professions Directors Council and serve on other University committees as assigned. • Provide leadership in the recruitment and retention of students, including ensuring appropriate advising. • Coordinate scheduling of classes and faculty assignments. • Hire, train and evaluate assigned FT faculty and adjunct faculty. • Manage admission, dismissal, graduation recommendation and licensure recommendation of students. • Work with the admissions staff and coordination of admissions events. • Facilitate communication within the program, including serving as faculty and student advocate, as well as to external units such as Missouri Board of Nursing and accreditation bodies. • In coordination with the Associate Dean of Nursing, oversee routine and non-routine re including maintaining on-going accreditation of the program. • Manage faculty responsibilities, such as appointing faculty members to committees and forces to accomplish specific tasks. • Oversee annual evaluations of full-time faculty teaching in the BSN program. • Represents the BSN programs locally, statewide, and nationally. • Maintains relationships with all external constituents including Hospital systems, clinical sites, and student preceptors.
