Job Summary/Basic Function
This position is for a 9.5 month academic year, tenure earning appointment within the School of Education.
Maryville University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor to teach, supervise and advise students in doctoral and master’s programs in educational administrative leadership and teacher leadership. This is a tenure track teaching-intensive position with an obligation to further the scholarship of teaching and learning and to serve in the Maryville and surrounding communities. The candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive atmosphere for students, faculty and staff, to leading active learning in all courses and to providing support and guidance as an advisor through regular meetings with assigned advisees. The candidate must also be committed to working collaboratively in pursuit of the improvement of teacher and administrative leadership throughout PK-12 schools.Masters and doctoral programs at Maryville University use a practitioner-focused cohort model to develop the relationships between students and faculty to ensure active engagement in the deep learning necessary to build and sustain a strong and vital system of public education.
• Doctorate (ABD near completion may be considered.)• Experience as a district administrator.• Experience working with culturally diverse student populations.
